HI Guys, Well the Fleet works wonderfully and I installed the RFN gauge in my Grumman Tracker. It seems to work, only the frequencies do not match your chart. I did swap the French xml file for the HG file and renamed it but when I tried to ring up the America LHA6 using 28Y, it told me I was calling Kearsarge. I took a closer look at the file I substituted for the French one, rfn_carriers xml and see that only a few of the US ships are in the file and a lot of practice strip locations. I am usually good at following instructions and I must have goofed somewhere. But the file is what it is and only a few of the ships are included.....AND they have different frequencies from the HG List. Hope you can straighten me out. Ron , Order FSS0562341

OK, Thank you. Having worked with sonar systems I know what can happen in compiling, etc. I'll try this. Ron

It works! I flew off of the coast of Norfolk, spawned the LHA-6 America task force, tuned 28Y and it showed that I had the correct frequency for the America, but no connection. I found that if I dialed up 29X, CVN-77 it directed me to the dock at Norva where the HG carrier George W Bush is currently tied up. Conclusion. It does not work with AI Carrier placed ships and I don't see why it should with the nature of how they are spawned. Am I correct? Thank you for your patience. Ron

Hmmm, that doesn't sound right, Ron. Try that again with the AI Carrier spawned task force. I will try it as well.

Joe, I don't know that there is any problem. I did something wrong the first time I tried it. I just tried again, flew out of Norfolk NS. When I got a few miles into deep water I spawned the LHA-6 ARG 10 miles ahead. I dialed up channel 28Y and the needle turned in the direction it should and I was locked on to the America. I also found LPD22 and LSD52 in the group. The fourth ship DDG-106, Stockdale has no TACAN frequency assignment. What I believe I was questioning before was if the gauge, with new channel assignments for HG, would work with a duplicate ship spawned from some other source. For example, I spawned a Nimitz task force with the Javier Fernandez CVN-68 and the gauge did not show it. I do believe I can swap the Ike and the Nimitz for the HG ones, but have opted to stick with HG, knowing there are some more carrier improvements on the planning board. I guess that was a no-brainer. Use the HG formation ships.

Folks, just tested it again, and the RFN gauge works fine. Of course, you do need to use the correct file (again see above, mea culpa)!
Works with regular AI traffic, and it works with the traffic spawned using AI Carriers.
Just be sure you are testing with a ship that isn't placed twice in the same area -- that would likely be a problem.
