With regards to FSUIPC...is this an option that can be turned off with the freeware variant?

Good question -- honestly I don't know. Might be.

With regards to FSUIPC...is this an option that can be turned off with the freeware variant? I'm pretty sure the free version doesn't include this - will check later today. That said, another thing to check is 3rd-party AI air traffic. FSX is notorious for getting time zones wrong–not all, but some. Not sure if that was corrected in P3D. Some AI traffic programs, like Ultimate Traffic II, correct the time zone problems. The issue is that some FSX time zones are correct…and some are not. So a bit of hit-and-miss if your have something installed that gives you correct time zones (Yeah!) but you are looking for a ship in a previously inaccurate time zone (Boo!).

Yes, I checked and it does not have the option. Within P3D scenario set up there is a GMT check box but not sure if it enables/disables the actual time for setting or just allows the viewer to see GMT time during set up. Will this be an issue? I use My Traffic X Professional 6.0a

Will it be an issue? Like so many things, the answer is “it depends”
I suggest that you first look into your My Traffic documentation to see if it adjusts the time zones. If it does you should be able to do the GMT to local time zones conversions in a fairly straightforward manner.
The GMT setting hopefully sets the date to GMT no matter where you are…i.e. at midnight GMT the date changes and your system goes by that date. I don’t think FSX works that way…I think that in FSX the date changes at local midnight which has caused me no end to my confusion.

I can answer, and My Traffic X Professional 6.0a has no effect at all.

How about Ultimate Traffic Live (v1.2.0.0)?
