Today I was testing something entirely different, and I happened to notice this -- I think we might have mismatched the timing on this flight. We originally had a flight set up to start on deck of the Nimitz just north of Neah Bay, WA which is in the straits of Juan de Fuca and pretty close to Canada. We decided it is highly unlikely our US Navy would ever plan flight ops that close to the border and we reset the flight to happen WEST of Neah Bay, out in big blue Pacific. In doing that, I think I mismatched an old file with a new file. Anyway, I'd like some folks to test this one as a replacement. If good, it will go out in a patch. Please report any issues -- or report success, if you don't mind. Thanks Updated FA18 flights.zip (147.45 KB)

I installed the flight in P3D, as am not using FSX now. Actually worked, but because I do not have the Hornet in P3DV4, it loaded my last aircraft, which happened to be a A-7E. Tried saving the flight. Restarted the flight, and aircraft was in hangar bay. I went into slew mode, moved up to flight deck and saved flight again. Restarted, and hit slew mode quickly to place aircraft on deck. Just need to figure out how to save aircraft so using slew mode won't be necessary? Chief

Good morning Chief!
Yes saving a flight with your aircraft is pretty simple. However, what happens is that the flight is saved as an 'in flight' scenario, so when you load your saved flight, you will be moving.
This can be fixed, and in fact there are step by step instructions in the manual. Eventually I will make a simple (hopefully) how-to tutorial video and post it to the YouTube channel, but I haven't gotten to that point yet.
Also, you do realize, Chief, that there is a whole different installer for P3D and a third one even for P3D v4, correct?

Actually proximity to the border really isn't the issue. The issue is that, given a morning underway time, most of the aviators aren't awake until we clear the SJD…just say'n.

Re Saving Flights: I use an app called Tweak Flight for FSX - it can be found here: Tweak FS - Tweak Flight
Will it work with P3D? I have no idea. However, they give you a 30 day free trial if somebody wants to try it. As you can see from the attached screen shot (lower right) it provides a simple way to place an aircraft on the flight deck - just don't check the "On Ground" box. Tweak Flight Main Page
Doesn't work with helos though.

Tweak Flight should work -- basically a nifty interface to that edits the .FLT file, an alternative to opening it up in Notepad and editing.
