There are three separate installers for FLEET TRAFFIC: US Navy, one for FSX, another for P3D and a third for P3D v4 specifically. These installers require a key that will be provided by your online vendor. Simply run the installer and direct it to the location of your root FSX or P3D folder (if it does not detect it automatically).
That is the easy part. There are a couple more manual steps that we suggest (but do not require).
* Deactivate TrafficCarriers.bgl file that is found in the scenery/world/scenery folder. Do this by renaming the file to TrafficCarriers.bgl.OFF and leave it in the folder. It will remove the default carrier traffic, which will interfere with the FLEET TRAFFIC: US Navy traffic, particularly in port. Some users may have this file deactivated already.
* If you are using the Global AI Shipping package by Henrik Nielsen (an excellent freeware package which we highly recommend), we suggest that you remove two ships, FFG-40 Halyburton and DDG-91 Bainbridge. The FFG is already decommissioned and the DDG is already included in this package, making it redundant. They also interfere somewhat with the FLEET TRAFFIC: US Navy traffic in certain areas. Simply these two folders in simobjects/boats and deactivate the sim.cfg file (rename it to sim.cfg.off).
There is also some OPTIONAL CONTENT that you might wish to install.
* The HG gauge can be installed into the aircraft of your choice. This gauge drives animations which the user can control at will, such as raising/lowering elevators and opening/closing well-deck doors on certain ships. We will provide some more details (and working examples) on how to install the gauge in various aircraft. See also Appendix E in the manual.
* You probably already have AICarriers by Lamont Clark installed. We offer our own alternative ship list which you can use or not use at your own discretion. The file is called aicarrier_HG.cfg and is found in the Haze Gray Studios\Documentation folder. Simply rename this file aicarrier.cfg and replace the file in your AICarriers folder, wherever you have it installed (be sure to back up the original).
